While much of my work was lost in the transition from paper to web among several publications I wrote for, here's a small collection of various reporting, done in both a full-time and freelance capacity. Work spans from 2012 to 2015.
REPORTING (freelance): Back in my freelance reporter days, I covered several St. Louis and St. Charles cities and school districts. Francis Howell School District was on my beat; this article came out of a heated school board meeting.

From freelancer days: I covered this controversial topic of Normandy School District students being bussed in to Francis Howell schools because their school lost accreditation and, until it could regain it, Normandy kids had to attend the St. Charles County district.
REPORTING: During my work as a reporter in Perryville, Missouri, I had the opportunity to tackle this super-fun feature piece about a group of best friends who, in the early 1960s, got lost in a Perry County cave. Four of the five friends live to tell the story today.

As a freelancer covering St. Louis and St. Charles counties, I got the opportunity to do an in-depth feature piece about the area's beloved wine country.
During my reporter days in Perryville, I covered a fatal car accident that occurred in the neighboring town of Ste. Genevieve; it killed three children instantly. This article was written roughly six months later, and it highlighted the other driver involved in the crash and what his life became following the incident.
For this particular edition of the Alton-Telegraph's Homestyle Magazine (quarterly), I wrote two feature pieces: one about eco-friendly furniture and another about successfully gardening in summer months (scroll down through pages to see both articles).
